Beaver Creek Forest Products is a lumber mill located in North Central Wisconsin, owned and operated by James and Brenda Walasek. They specialize in custom rough sawing for a variety of businesses, and also saw and distribute lumber for general consumer needs. Originally established by father Charles Walasek, Beaver Creek Forest Products began under a small metal roofed building, operated by only two personnel. The mill utilized a diesel engine for power and human muscle to cant the logs onto the carriage. Now, many year later it has expanded in both size and technology. It efficiently operates with 4-5 employees, and spans over twice the ground it originally covered. All of the wood and scrap material is handled mechanically, up to the point where it is sorted and stacked by hand. The sawing process is computer controlled and laser guided, ensuring consistency and accuracy in the final product. Scrap wood is converted into woodchips and shipped out along with bark and sawdust to a variety of places to be recycled into energy or other products. |
